/notsigned it's only 100 gold to make your own guild. in the time it took you to post this thread, you could have killed enough enemies to get 100 gold. if you aren't in an allied guild, you shouldn't be able to participate in alliance battles.

Doesn't matter.
It's the same principle - it's blocking out people that aren't in a guild.
And if something else works in the same way - I don't see how it can be used as a reason for change unless we also demand a change for all the other places where the same system takes place.
So that's why I can't agree with THAT reason - but I do agree with the idea.

It's another 500 gold to actually ally one of the factions, and you need a guild hall (~10k ?) to actually be able to get there through the NPCs
/signed, because AB is fun, and should be fun for everybody.

We basically run around the map not capping and doing things like casting Life Attunement on the Luxon physicals and casting Iron Mist on Kurzick NPCs. As well as chatting in All Chat. Idiots like the one i quoted might be the only reason not to implement this. I fail to see the actual use of ruining a battle for 8 other people so "your side" can win. But i guess every game needs it's morons.
And before you jump on the "lol suxon"-bandwagon : i have the same rank in both title tracks, i don't realy care what side i play for. But when i play for a side, i play to have fun. Making your team lose is not fun in my book.

Agreed. And if it were possible to alleviate "griefer" teams *and* provide AB options for all players (with or without guilds) I'm all for it. Though they seem to have no problem getting around the so-called restrictions as it is...it would likely be even worse.
Maybe if it cost x-amount of gold (say 150g or so) to get into your opposite side's faction would deter some people? (while leaving it free inside your guild hall...)
Since my cynical side reminds me that griefers would be happy to pay the 500g+ to sabotage, the real solution would probably be in the already broken dishonor/report system. Can't hold my breath on that though, I know.

Most obvious fix would be to add a dialogue to both the Luxon navigator and the Kurzick kommandant saying they refuse to teleport you when you are in a guild allied to the opposing faction.
This would sadly enough also stop the non-griefers that just want to play some AB, for example to get the 10k faction required to advance in the PvE storyline.
They could bypass it though, by temporally leaving the guild, doing the AB's, and joining again. Same counts for griefers though. I guess no system will even completely stop them.

Members of guilds are the only ones that can join AB battles, through the GHall NpC.
In PvE, players can earn faction from shrine blessings, which is just about equal in points given per kill as AB, but is slower to gain overall, and you obviously don't get Balth faction in PvE.
All players can trade faction for materials, scrolls, skills, etc, (from Cavalon/HzH) but you can only donate 5k faction for allegiance to the side your guild is allied to.
The OP was asking for a NPC to allow travel to AB from Cavalon/HzH without having a guild, not asking how to get faction for the other side.
(In other words, trying to make AB accessible for everyone--and both titles become a smidgen easier to gain)

Individuals that exchange their services against some kind of reward and change side on the most offering?
I /sign if you make them stand still in the AB outposts and that they are list in the 3rd tab of the party search panel.
More serious:
On a kurzick defavorable map noone would play on the kurzick side when you can go luxon and get more faction.
That gives guildless people an unfair advantage

Because GvG is battles between guilds. Alliance Battles are battles between Alliances (Kurzick/Luxon, not guild Alliances), which are made up of thousands of players from different guilds. As long as a character has HzH or Cav unlocked, they should always be allowed in AB, if not, right from creation.

Wasnt the whole point of the NPCs only being available in Guild Halls to limit people who would go to the opposing side and intentionally screw up that side? (which actually began to happen near the end of the beta weekend and happens occasionally now)

Someone mentioned charging those who wish to play for the other team. I like this option. Would help stop many griefers I think. Who would pay to grief? Only a few I think - unless a large alliance sync entered to help their own players gain faction... Tbh I'm not sure there are enough people around to do that, and faction is often better earned in other ways.

Hate to admit it but its true some sneaky players might do that, let me see...
How about only players who are guildless can use these NPC that are not located in the guild hall and they have to use a scroll of something.
